The Balcony

"...where world flavours merge ...within art & seductive grooves"

Recently we were in Byron Bay for the weekend and visited The Balcony for lunch. I have been to byron so many times and have always gazed up at The Balcony and wondered what was happening up there !! :)

Finally on the easter weekend, Sanj and I went and had a meal there!!! We loved it for a stack of reasons. As you walk up the stairs and enter the restaurant you can't help but notice the decor of the place. There are candles burning and lovely rustic artwork on the walls.... that gives a bit of a homewares store feel. While there is seating inside as well, the real appeal is sitting outside on the balcony. There are a combination of tables and tables, stools and benches and couches to sit on!

I enjoyed having the different perspective of looking down on fellow byron bay visitors (not the usual looking up like i mentioned before!!). So let's just say I was MORE than happy with the ambience and was happier still with the meal!! I ordered a lovely vegetarian dish (ah but of course) and Sanj had some chicken and leek parcels that were super yummy (ok so they are not HIS words but you get my drift). We both enjoyed our lemon lime and bitters too!

This place exceeded my expectations in terms of ambience and food! Will not be able to resist going back to The Balcony next time I'm in Byron! :)
